Nissei DS-1902 Blood Pressure Monitor is an Upper Arm, Fully Automatic/Auto-Inflate BP Monitor. It incorporates a unique feature that helps reducing the pain of excessive cuff pressurisation by measuring at the time of inflation.
Unlike regular blood pressure monitors that read oscillation during deflation after cuff is inflated to a certain amount, the reading by this monitor starts during inflation and stops as the systolic blood pressure is taken, which is the end of measurement. At the beginning of a measurement, the cuff is inflated rapidly to 25mmHg units of pressure and after reaching this point it inflates gradually. During this gradual inflation its starts taking pulse rate and blood pressure measurements. As soon as these measurements are taken, the air in the cuff is rapidly exhausted which again adds to the overall comfortable blood pressure measurement. In this measurement manner applied to DS-1902, the cuff inflation is so graduate and gentle that the measurement is done almost before you realize the inflation.
To achieve measurement in even less time, DS-1902 features what is called "personal mode". With this "personal mode", the inflation is carried out just to the appropriate amount at the ideal rate, which are determined from past three measurements. By arranging the inflated value and the inflation rate for each person, DS-1902 accomplished the embodiment of minimizing unnecessary inflation and therefore measuring time with maximizing measuring comfort.

The monitor alerts in case the measurement was effected by talking or moving, which is one of the most significant artefacts causing incorrect measurement.
The wide range cuff for DS-1902 has embodied this more advanced measurement of blood pressure to be applied to arm circumference of 23.0 cm to 43.0 cm without requiring a large size cuff to be bought separately.
