Description
Kaltostat dressing is an non -woven, fibrous alginate dressing pad consisting of 80% calcium alginate and 20% sodium alginate. It is a highly absorbent, hemostatic dressing pad for application over the surface wounds. It is used as a primary dressing for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds including chronic wounds.
On contact with exudates the dressing gradually forms a firm, moist gel which is highly absorbent. It provides a micro-environment that is believed to facilitate wound healing.
Calcium Sodium Alginate dressings can be used on moderately to heavily exuding including chronic wounds such as leg ulcers (venous arterial and diabetic), pressure sores, fungating carcinomas, and acute wounds such as donor sites, abrasions, lacerations and post surgical wounds.
Maximum wear time of 7 days.
